Trimming Your Hair

Trimming your hair regularly is a must as it helps to get rid of all split ends and damaged hair. If you want to maintain your hair very long then you should trim it about 1- 1.5 inches every 2 months but if you want to keep a shorter, more manageable style you should consider trimming it 2-2.5 inches every two months.

It is absolutely easy to trim your own hair at home. This way you can save the time and effort of going to a parlour or a salon, not to mention save a great deal of money on an expensive cut.

Before beginning, dampen your hair with some water. This will help the hair to lie flat. Then divide the hair into 10 to 15 parts and hold them separate with clips. Separate the portion that you want to cut first and affix the rest on the top of your head with clips. Lift each section that you want to trim and using your index and middle fingers hold off the hair that you want to cut. Using sharp scissors cut off this hair. Repeat the same exercise with the rest of the hair. The important thing to remember is to cut off the same amount of hair for each section.
